Lotte Insurance has teamed up with Creatrip, a travel information platform based in Seoul, to launch a new insurance product for foreign tourists visiting Korea, the Korea Times reported.
The insurance subscription service is designed to be simple and easy, allowing foreign tourists to sign up by providing basic information such as travel period, passport number, name and gender via the Creatrip application.
The product also provides specialized services to foreign customers by increasing the convenience of insurance subscriptions and claims. In the event of an insurance accident, the insured can easily make a claim through their mobile device or email before leaving Korea.
The insurer will provide major documents in six languages, including English, Japanese, Cantonese, Taiwanese, Thai and Vietnamese. Lotte Insurance aims to expand the number of languages supported in the future.
The non-life insurer plans to widen its lineup of digital insurance services through a special department dedicated to strengthening its in-house e-business insurance.
Lotte Insurance aims to provide customized Korea travel insurance services to foreign tourists, and launch creative insurance services in the future. The company also has plans to expand partnerships with other platforms to diversify its footing in the non-life insurance sector.
Creatrip is a startup founded in 2016 that provides diverse services for foreign travelers visiting Seoul and other major attractions in Korea. The number of monthly active users on its website and app topped 1.5 million in March.
This partnership with Lotte Insurance is expected to provide more value to foreign tourists visiting Korea, ensuring they have access to reliable insurance services during their travels. – InsuranceNewsAsia.com
